  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover comprises the total amount of income receivable for services provided in the ordinary course of activities, including performance fees, workshop income, grants, and community donations. Income is recognized in the financial year in which the services or performances are delivered, or when grants and donations are received.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of each asset, less its estimated residual value, evenly over its expected useful life. The depreciation rate applied for musical instruments and equipment is 20% per annum on a straight-line basis (representing an estimated useful life of 5 years).

    Valuation information and policy

    The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. Assets and liabilities are initially recognized at transaction value or historical cost, unless otherwise stated in the applicable accounting policies.
