Company activities and impact

The focus for FP RAFT CIC this year has been to develop a youth strategy and to improve the critical services that we deliver to our elderly residents. One of our key successes in the 2025/2026 financial year has been our FP RAFT CIC Over 50’s friendship club. Our priority has been to galvanise local families bringing them together with professionals and stakeholders alike to build and develop an over 50’s friendship club covering over 750 households. We have strengthened relationships by reviewing progress and holding both a risk and lessons learnt register. We have supported our elderly residents to stay meaningfully engaged, improving their wellbeing and our community overall. We have continually looked for learning opportunities throughout this year and linked in with the local complex needs nursing home activities manager to share ideas and experiences. We are now working with stakeholders to identify products, programs and services that enable our elderly residents to maximise their safety, strength, balance, fitness, independence and mobility. Older people face more demands and challenges because of the cost of living crises. The rise in food prices has led to increased financial strain on them, with many struggling to afford basic necessities. As a result, and in addition to our over 50’s friendship club, we are also increasing access to affordable food for our elderly residents. So far this year we have provided 104 hours of activities for our over 50’s friendship group. We have promoted the over 50’s friendship club to 750 households A total of 676 elderly residents have attended dedicated sessions delivered at the community centre. We have provided 52 hours throughout the year to provide elderly residents with access to affordable food. We have provided 104 hours throughout the winter months for our elderly to attend sessions in a safe warm space A total of 338 elderly residents attended our dedicated safe warm space sessions We have provided 624 hours of work for our FP RAFT CIC Directors We have provided 104 hours of work for our volunteers With regards to our activities and how they have benefited the community - Our focus in 2025/2026 has been to foster social cohesion, reduce isolation for our elderly residents and improve health and wellbeing. The community centre has become a local hub for learning, volunteering and the provision of essential / critical support services. We look to strengthen our community and empower our residents through inclusive local activities. We have created new volunteer opportunities and work sessions in our food bank, our youth hub and our over 50’s friendship club. We have brought together people from very diverse backgrounds, ages and faiths to create a sense of belonging by creating local committees to take activities and projects forward for the whole community. We have built youth skills by challenging a team of youths from the Kings Trust to refurbish the community centre hall decorations and our community garden. In the last half of the year, we have delivered 13 educational sessions to empower the youths through change. These have included sessions on racism, health and wellbeing, diversity, alcohol and substance abuse, anti-social behaviour and knife crime. A total of 288 youths took part in these free sessions
