Bike It Walk It CIC is based in North Manchester and works across Greater Manchester to make cycling, walking and active travel more accessible and inclusive. We work closely with community organisations, the NHS, local authorities and other partners to tackle wider issues such as social isolation, poverty, poor health and lack of access to opportunities. Our work is intergenerational and includes cycling and walking groups, women’s cycling, beginner and confidence sessions, accessible cycling, bike repair and maintenance, Dr Bike and community events. We are also working with the NHS on walking projects and will be spearheading a community Repair Cafe, supporting repair, reuse, skills development and reducing waste. Our aim is to bring people together, improve wellbeing and confidence, and develop practical skills. We encourage positive behaviour change and aim to create lasting, sustainable change in local communities.
