  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible Fixed Assets are initially measured at cost and subsequently measured at cost or valuation, net of depreciation and any impairment losses. Depreciation is recognised so as to write off the cost or valuation of assets less their residual values over their useful lives on the following bases: Plant and Equipment 20% straight line. Computer Equipment 33.3% straight line The gain or loss arising on the disposal of an asset is determined as the difference between the sale proceeds and the carrying value of the asset and is credited or charged to surplus or deficit.

Company activities and impact

During the year to the 31st March 2026 we sold just under 38,000 native trees grown from locally collected seed, these were all planted out on Knoydart. Local seed was collected, volunteers helped at the nursery as well as helping with seed collecting, we worked closely with local businesses, had numerous visitors come in for a tour and the Knoydart Ranger service included visits to the nursery with tourists. The nursery keeps the community updated through social media and the monthly newsletter.

Directors' remuneration

The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £18,273. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
