COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

LONDON JUDO CIC

Company Number: 13773196 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2025

Company activities and impact

London Judo CIC was formally the University of London Judo club. The club used to be exclusively for students. Being the only Judo club in central London, we had enquires every day from residents in our community and surrounding boroughs requesting to train and from women wanting to practice and asking for female-only sessions. During the pandemic, the University of London decided to stop funding all societies and sell the student central building, where we were based. The committee saw this as an opportunity to start afresh and open the club up to everyone in the community. With an emphasis on connecting people, building strong social ties, and moving young people away from anti-social behaviour.

Consultation with stakeholders

Four of our committee members live in the Westminster area and have regular conversations with residents regarding the judo club and its new direction. We have also conducted surveys on what people would from judo, which focused on social rather than physical elements. We are now rebuilding our social media platforms and plan to engage with residents through this medium, as well as leaflets, through our local council, as well as schools, colleges, and Universities in the area.
