COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

WORTHING LEARNING HUB CIC

Company Number: 16066970 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2025

Company activities and impact

Worthing Learning Hub CIC provided accessible, inclusive educational and wellbeing support for children and young people in Worthing and the surrounding areas, with a particular focus on home-educated learners and those who experience barriers to accessing mainstream education. During the financial year, the company provided small-group learning, individual tuition, functional skills support, enrichment activities and social opportunities. Our provision was designed to be flexible and supportive of children and young people with additional needs, including neurodivergent learners and those experiencing anxiety or difficulties within conventional educational environments. The company benefited the community by providing families with access to affordable, local educational provision which supported not only academic development but also confidence, wellbeing, social connection and engagement with learning. Small group sizes and an individualised approach enabled young people who may struggle within larger or more formal settings to participate at a level appropriate to their needs. We also supported young people working towards recognised learning outcomes and qualifications and developed opportunities for home-educated young people to learn alongside their peers, helping to reduce the social isolation that can sometimes accompany home education. As a Community Interest Company, income generated through our activities was used to develop and sustain the provision, including staffing, educational resources, premises and activities for children and young people. The company continued to develop its services in response to the needs identified by local families, with the aim of increasing access to safe, inclusive and meaningful educational opportunities within the community.
