Company activities and impact

During the financial year, the company secured funding to deliver Operation Outdoors, providing veterans with opportunities to participate in outdoor and adventure activities to support wellbeing, build confidence, reduce isolation and develop positive social connections. The company also secured funding to deliver outdoor activities for young people at risk of crime. The activities provide positive and constructive opportunities for young people to develop confidence, skills and relationships through participation in outdoor and adventure activities. The company also operates a charity football team which brings people together through sport while raising funds and awareness for charitable organisations. During the year, the team supported charitable organisations including Ty Gobaith and Woodys Lodge. Through these activities, the company has benefited the community by supporting wellbeing, reducing isolation, providing positive opportunities for vulnerable groups and contributing to charitable causes.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company worked directly with veterans to understand their experiences, needs and preferences, and used their feedback to help shape the programme of activities and support provided through Operation Outdoors. The company also worked closely with Change Step, drawing on their experience of supporting veterans and providing peer support, and with NHS therapists to ensure that the activities were appropriate and responsive to participants' wellbeing needs. This ongoing engagement has helped ensure that the programme is informed by the people it is intended to support and provides relevant, accessible and beneficial activities.
