The company operates within Hesketh Bank Community Centre running a bar and events. Stock is purchased from local village suppliers and sold at minimum markup to keep the cost to the customers as low as possible; making private events at the Community Centre accessible to all. For example christenings, birthdays and anniversary parties. The events are run in partnership with the Community Centre and bring talent and entertainment to the village, which again are accessible to all. For example we are regularly on the Mikron Theatre touring calendar and Jazz In The Village performs annually en-route the Edinburgh Fringe. The bar is run by volunteers which further keeps down the cost to the customer.
Previous feedback from customers on the private company offering was that prices were too high and the range was limited. Since taking over we have been able to reduce the prices and increase the range on offer. The resulting feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
No remuneration was received
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
