Included in the cost of sales are the following payments to fellow subsidiary companies relating to the provision of safari camp accommodation and related services:- Cranes Nest Safaris (Botswana): 939,895 Lake Lodges (Zimbabwe): £484,491 Ledgeback Safaris (Zimbabwe): £3,415,045 Safari Drive (Botswana): £317,606 Khwai Leadwood (Botswana): £2,056,825 Thorntree Investments (Zambia): £1,662,626 Okavango Delta Expeditions (Botswana): £1,909,299 In addition, the company subcontracted its sales, marketing, customer service and order processing functions to related parties based in Africa. Amounts paid for the provision of these services were:- Safari ABC (South Africa): £1,881,619 Siavonga Enterprises (Zimbabwe): £103,759 The balances due from (to) the subsidiary companies are as follows:- Cranes Nest Safaris (Botswana): (£52,329) Lake Lodges (Zimbabwe): (£37,972) Ledgeback Safaris (Zimbabwe): £5,556 Safari Drive (Botswana): - Khwai Leadwood (Botswana): (£182,255) Thorntree Investments (Zambia): (£51,353) Okavango Delta Expeditions (Botswana): (£177,585) Safari ABC (South Africa): (£175) Siavonga Enterprises (Zimbabwe): (£87,534) Marula Expeditions (Botswana): (£21,261) ABC Community and Conservation Company: (£102,199) The company also made a loan of £489,755 to its parent company, African Bush Camps Ltd (incorporated in Mauritius). The loan is denominated in US Dollars and is interest free. The ultimate controlling party is Mr R J Dow.
