| 2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Basis of preparing the financial statements
There were no material departures from that standard.
The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remained unchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts.
Going concern
The directors hived up all trade, assets and liabilities of this company to its parent company, Northern Arch Learning Partnership Limited, during the year. As such the company is expected to be dissolved in the next 12 months and the directors have prepared the financial statements on a basis other than going concern.
No adjustments were necessary to amounts included in these financial statements.
The financial statements for the current period cover an extended 18-month reporting period arising from the closure of the entity and the transfer of its activities to the parent charity. Consequently, the comparative figures for the prior period are not fully comparable.
Related party exemption
The company has taken advantage of exemption, under the terms of Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland', not to disclose related party transactions with wholly owned subsidiaries within the group, nor with those conducted under normal market terms.
Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes.
Income recognition
Income is recognised when a service has been provided.
Tangible fixed assets
| Fixtures and fittings | - |
Assets are held at cost less depreciation and provisions for impairment.
Financial instruments
Basic financial instruments are recognised at amortised cost with changes recognised in profit or loss.

| 2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES - continued |
Taxation
Taxation for the period comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Profit and Loss Account, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity.
Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted.
Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date.
Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the period end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.
Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.
Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's pension scheme are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate.

| 8. | DISCLOSURE UNDER SECTION 444(5B) OF THE COMPANIES ACT 2006 |
The Report of the Auditors was unqualified.
We draw attention to Note 2 to the financial statements which explains that the assets and liabilities of the company were transferred to the Parent Trust during the year, and therefore, the directors do not consider it to be appropriate to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements. Accordingly the financial statements have been prepared on a basis other than going concern as described in Note 2.
Our responsibilities and the responsibilities of the directors with respect to going concern are described in the relevant sections of this report.
Our opinion is not modified in respect of this matter.
