COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

GEMC CIC

Company Number: 12340779 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2025

Company activities and impact

During the year, the company delivered conferences, seminars and conventions, and established a range of education and training courses. It also provided mentoring to support learners in progressing into different employment roles. The company worked with local churches and community organisations to help meet the needs of local communities, including through mental health awareness seminars and counselling support. The company delivered mental health seminars and counselling to support families affected by emotional trauma. It also organised retreats that enabled families to spend time away together in a supportive environment. Participants of different ages were able to socialise, relax, walk, use gym facilities and engage in open conversation with friends and family. The company revisited its original vision of building a community resource that meets the needs of all sectors of the community. This vision includes purchasing land and developing facilities for a school, college, youth centres and care in the community, as well as providing vocational courses that enable effective community work. The church would provide a welcoming space for the wider community. The company explored potential land purchases and began identifying investors who may be willing to sponsor the project. While seeking ways to fund the project, the company continued to promote the Adult Education Academy, Gospel Express Academy, which is an accredited education and training provider. The company developed customised courses designed to train church workers to be more effective in serving their communities. A key part of the wider project is to develop Gospel Express Academy so that it can continue to serve the communities it supports.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders include directors, learners, local churches, community organisations, families and members of the wider community who benefit from its activities. Stakeholder engagement took place through ongoing communication with those involved in the company’s programmes and community activities. Following this engagement, the company reviewed the support required to advance its mission and vision. The newly appointed director subsequently resigned, as they were no longer able to provide the level of support required to progress the company’s objectives.
