Between 1st Dec 2024 and 30th Nov 2025, Action Speaks c.i.c organised a variety of events and activities to benefit the residents of Fishermead, Oldbrook and Springfield – We held our regular community cafe on Thursdays and Fridays, and introduced new items to the menu as requested by members of the community. Our cafe which used to serve mainly breakfast, started serving breakfast and lunch to ensure we cater for a variety of needs. We now cater for our African and Asia residents by providing their traditional dishes at affordable prices' In December, we held our annual Christmas party and New Year’s eve celebrations, these events attracted more people than the previous year, and an increased number of people reported that they didn’t know and would have been interested in attending. Some of the noticeable benefits from our activities is that residents who were not engaging with other due to loneliness or isolation are now joining our sessions and getting support with issues they would otherwise have been left to handle by themselves.
At Action Speaks, our sessions are designed in line with the needs and requests of our community, as such we started our monthly arts & craft session in November 2024, and our other sessions evolve in accordance with the needs of the community. Our residents leave feedback through face to face communications, text or facebook messaging, and every message or suggestion is acknowledged with those that fit the organisations aims and objectives being planned to fit in with our regular sessions.
