Principal activities of the company

The principal activity of the company during the year was providing a platform of support, mentoring and skills development for young people and individuals facing economic and social disadvantage in deprived areas of Newcastle, including Gateshead, Byker and Westgate Road. The company ran programmes such as Active Together for Health, offering activities including table tennis, badminton, skateboarding, football and bowling in collaboration with former sportspeople, volunteers and parents, alongside workshops on entrepreneurship, IT and financial literacy, and creative skills such as painting and graphic design. There was no significant change in this activity during the year.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation. Depreciation is provided on office equipment at 20% per annum on the reducing balance method, calculated to write off the cost of the asset over its expected useful life.

Company activities and impact

Resolute Network CIC, established in 2023, a community organisation that provides a platform for Young people in deprived areas, and individuals facing economic barriers, social disadvantages, School dropouts, Black/BAME communities in Newcastle, Gateahead, Byker, Westgate Road etc. We are an inclusive environment and welcome people from diverse backgrounds to share experiences, from Volunteers, Resources persons and Mentors. We have a 6 member diverse Leadership Team from the Age 13 to 19 who also play a major role in decision making and influencing our Future plans as an organisation. This has uplifted them and help build their confidence and also giving them the platform to exhibit their leadership skills. We believe every young person deserve equal opportunities hence our tailored programs and workshops are carefully created to enhance their skillset, build confidence and shaping the lives the young people to becoming the best versions of themselves. We collaborate with schools and local businesses like Lane 7 Bowling, Tapyard studios and Nucastle Foundation Hub with facilities that are conducive for learning and promotes high engagement. The Resolute Network CIC’s activities has been beneficial to the community by: The Future Now project created a lot of engagement from the community and with the increasing number of interests and feedback from our Young Leadership we decided to have our ongoing project, Active Together for Health. We have had series of activities from Table tennis, Badminton, Skateboarding, Football, Bowling which has increased our beneficiaries and our engagement in the community. We have had collaboration with Ex sports men and women, Volunteers and Parents who shares their passion in various disciplines to support this project. We had few during this period and to engage more people during half terms and school breaks. This program was very successful and ended with a sports day where parents were invited to watch their children engage in different activities. We also had workshops on Entrepreneurship and other skill development to equip young people with requisite skills in IT and Financial literacy. We also had like sessions painting on canvas, Graphic designing to enable their creative skills and career options in the creative industry.

Consultation with stakeholders

We effectively engage our stakeholder(beneficiaries) through surveys, focus groups and feedbacks from our Steering Group that has a strong voice in the Future plans including events and projects embarked by the organisation to benefit the community. We meet once every month with our Steering Group to get feedbacks, brainstorm and encourage them to keep record of suggestions and feedbacks from the community and all stakeholders so we can implement them to benefit the community at large.
