Company activities and impact

The company campaigns for those affected by eating disorders and holds the secretariat for the APPG for Eating Disorders. During the 2025–2026 financial year, Dump the Scales continued its work campaigning for people affected by eating disorders across the UK, including those currently living with an eating disorder, people at risk, bereaved families, carers, and healthcare professionals. As secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Eating Disorders, the company supported the production of APPG reports, helping to bring parliamentary attention to gaps in eating disorder treatment and care and giving affected communities a direct route into policy discussions at Westminster. The company produced and launched a campaign video which reached over 300,000 views, significantly extending public awareness of the realities of eating disorders and challenging stigma among a wide audience beyond those already engaged with the issue. We also featured across national press. Dump the Scales also held its annual march, bringing together people with lived experience, bereaved families, carers, and campaigners in a visible show of solidarity and public advocacy, while providing a source of connection and community for those affected. Together, these activities furthered the company's mission of improving eating disorder treatment, driving prevention, and encouraging a healthier public relationship with food and exercise, for the direct benefit of individuals and families affected and the wider UK community.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders are those affected by eating disorders. We meet with people affected by eating disorders once a month to get feedback. We also host evidence sessions for each APPG Report.
