1 General Information
MPZMail Limited is a private company limited by shares, incorporated in
2 Accounting policies
2.1 Basis of Preparation
2.2 Going concern
The parent company is profit making, has strong monthly recurring revenues and has net assets at the year end. It also has a positive cash position and is forecast to continue in this position for the foreseeable future. On this basis, the directors have a reasonable expectation that the company has reasonable resources to remain in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Therefore, they continue to adopt the going concern basis for preparing the annual report and financial statements.
2.3 Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the rendering of software as a service. Turnover from the rendering of software as a service is recognised by reference to the ongoing monthly contract status of each customer at the end of each monthly billing cycle.

MPZMAIL LIMITED | Company No. 11234241 |
Gains and losses on disposals are determined by the difference between the sale proceeds and the carrying value of the asset and are recognised in the Statement of Comprehensive Income.
2.5 Intangible assets - development costs
2.6
Investments in subsidiaries, associates and joint ventures are measured at cost less any accumulated impairment losses.
2.7 Debtors
Short term debtors are measured at transaction price, less any impairment losses. Loans and other financial assets are initially recognised at transaction price including any transaction costs and subsequently measured at amortised cost determined using the effective interest method, less any impairment losses for bad and doubtful debts.
2.8 Creditors
Short term creditors are measured at transaction price. Loans and other financial liabilities are initially recognised at transaction price net of any transaction costs and subsequently measured at amortised cost determined using the effective interest method.
2.9 Taxation
A current tax liability is recognised for the tax payable on the taxable profit of the current and past periods. A current tax asset is recognised in respect of a tax loss that can be carried back to recover tax paid in a previous period.
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences between the recognition of income and expenses in the financial statements and their inclusion in tax assessments. Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits. Deferred tax is measured using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the reporting date and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference, except for revalued land and investment property where the tax rate that applies to the sale of the asset is used. Current and deferred tax assets and liabilities are not discounted.
2.10 Foreign currency translation
Foreign currency transactions are initially recognised at the rate of exchange ruling at the date of the transaction. At the end of each reporting period foreign currency monetary items are translated at the closing rate of exchange. Any differences are taken to the Statement of Comprehensive Income.
MPZMAIL LIMITED | Company No. 11234241 |
2.11 Operating leases: the company as lessee
Operating lease payments are recognised as an expense on a straight line basis over the lease term. Benefits received and receivable as an incentive to sign an operating lease are recognised on a straight line basis over the lease term
2.12 Retirement benefits
For defined contribution schemes the amount charged to profit and loss is the contributions payable in the year. Differences between contributions payable in the year and contributions actually paid are shown as either accruals or prepayments.
2.13 Employee benefits
The cost of short term employee benefits are recognised as a liability and an expense, unless those costs are required to be recognised as part of the cost of fixed assets. The cost of any unused holiday entitlement is recognised in the period in which the employee's services are received.
2.14 Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents are basic financial instruments and include cash in hand and deposits held at call with banks
2.15 Judgements in applying accounting policies and key sources of estimation uncertainty
In preparing the financial statements management are required to make judgements about the carrying value of assets and liabilities that are not readily available from other sources. Estimates and judgements are continually evaluated based on historical experience and other factors., including expectations of future events which are expected to be reasonable under the circumstances. The estimates and assumptions that have a significant risk of causing a material adjustment to the carrying amounts of assets and liabilities within the next financial year are; internally generated intangible assets, amortisation and recoverability of group debtors.
