  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances. Revenue from the sale of goods is recognised when all the following conditions are satisfied: - the Company has transferred to the buyer the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods; - the Company retains neither continuing managerial involvement to the degree usually associated with ownership nor effective control over the goods sold; - the amount of revenue can be measured reliably; - it is probable that the economic benefits associated with the transaction will flow to the Company; and - the costs incurred or to be incurred in respect of the transaction can be measured reliably. Specifically, revenue from the sale of goods is recognised when goods are delivered and legal title is passed.

    Other accounting policies

Leased assets The company did not have any leased assets or right-of-use assets during the year. Taxation Income tax expense represents the tax currently payable. The tax currently payable is based on taxable profit for the year. Taxable profit differs from the surplus as reported in the income and expenditure account because of items of income or expense that are taxable or deductible in other years and items that are never taxable or deductible. The Company's liability for current tax is calculated using tax rates that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the end of the reporting period. Trade and other creditors Short term creditors are measured at the transaction price. Other financial liabilities, including bank loans, are measured initially at fair value, net of transaction costs, and are measured subsequently at amortised cost using the effective interest method.

COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

FUTURE INTENTIONS YORKSHIRE COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: 13722501 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2025

Company activities and impact

Over the past year we have continued to build our presence in the local community and have provided several workshops for women in Ryedale and York. We started a social group and alongside that we started an accountability group for women to receive a range of support, from confidence building and returning to work to starting a business. We planned to promote this as a membership in the coming year and secured free space in local cafes to run these groups. All participants reported increased confidence and felt that the tailored support helped them considerably. Throughout the year we continued our work with a local refuge, helping women to change their lives and move closer to economic independence, improved confidence and an increased capacity to build a support network. We worked with women from different backgrounds, many facing additional challenges around language barriers. The work was very successful and we were well respected amongst the IDAS team. At times it was challenging to provide all the services without volunteers and finding new volunteers was difficult. We received further support from Community First Yorkshire, who encouraged us to develop a new business plan to reflect the new groups and enable us to seek funding. We continued to review the organisation's future plans, potential funding opportunities and the development of digital resources that could be made available at a reasonable cost to women who were unable or did not wish to attend in-person events. Our Managing Director took part in the fully funded Courageous Females Programme through the York & North Yorkshire Growth Hub, which helped to increase confidence in developing new and varied workshops and resources. We developed several new contacts following our attendance at the New Era in Female Entrepreneurship event hosted by the University of York.

Consultation with stakeholders

The Company's stakeholders are our customers, directors, volunteers, collaborative and referral partners, signposting organisations and funders. Stakeholders have been consulted through questionnaires, email updates, newsletters, face to- face discussions and feedback. This feedback has helped to inform the development and delivery of workshops, peer support sessions, employability support and confidence building sessions. Regular feedback, questions and queries have been followed up through our Facebook page and directly via email communications. We have continued to maintain communication with our stakeholders and to take their feedback into consideration when developing our activities and support. The accounts were prepared by Solutions Accountancy, Huddersfield and presented to the director board of Future Intentions Yorkshire (Community Interest Company).
