Year Ending: 30 September 2025

Company activities and impact

Music Box – Inspiring Voices CIC exists to improve wellbeing, confidence, inclusion and community connection through music, singing and creative opportunities for people of all ages. During the financial year, the organisation delivered a wide range of music and singing activities across Bradford, Leeds and the surrounding areas, supporting participants aged 2 to 99. Activities included weekly singing groups for children, young people and adults, one-to-one vocal coaching, community performances, choir projects, songwriting opportunities and music workshops. A significant part of our work focused on reducing social isolation and improving mental wellbeing. Through our dementia-friendly singing sessions in care homes and community settings, older adults were given opportunities to reconnect with memories, build friendships and experience joy through music. Families, carers and care providers regularly reported improvements in mood, confidence and social engagement among participants. The CIC also provided accessible opportunities for children and young people to develop musical skills, creativity and self-confidence. Through performances, examinations, workshops and group activities, participants were encouraged to express themselves, build resilience and develop positive relationships with their peers. Music Box – Inspiring Voices CIC continued to support local communities by creating inclusive environments where people from diverse backgrounds could come together through a shared love of music. Community concerts and performances provided opportunities for individuals of all abilities to showcase their talents, celebrate achievements and strengthen community connections. The organisation also used music as a tool to support wider social outcomes, including mental health awareness, wellbeing, confidence building and community cohesion. Through partnerships with local organisations, schools, care providers and community groups, Music Box – Inspiring Voices CIC reached individuals who may otherwise have faced barriers to accessing creative activities. The overall impact of the company’s activities has been the creation of stronger community connections, improved confidence and wellbeing among participants, reduced social isolation, increased access to the arts and the provision of meaningful opportunities for people of all ages to learn, perform and thrive through music.
