Principal Activities The principal activities of Morley Challenger CIC Badminton Club during the year included: Organising and delivering weekly badminton sessions for members and local residents. Providing opportunities for recreational and competitive badminton participation. Entering teams into local league competitions, including the Leeds Badminton League. Supporting player development through coaching, mentoring, and match experience. Promoting physical health, wellbeing, and active lifestyles. Encouraging participation from individuals regardless of age, gender, background, or playing ability. Creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all members. Facilitating social engagement and community interaction through sport. Community Benefit and Impact As a Community Interest Company, Morley Challenger CIC operates for the benefit of the community and seeks to generate positive social outcomes through access to sport and physical activity. During the year, the Club delivered the following community benefits: Health and Wellbeing Encouraged regular physical activity among members of the local community. Supported improved fitness, mobility, and overall wellbeing through structured sporting activity. Promoted positive mental health through social engagement and participation in sport. Community Engagement Provided opportunities for local residents to participate in organised sporting activities. Fostered community cohesion by bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds. Created a supportive environment that encourages teamwork, friendship, and personal development. Inclusion and Accessibility Maintained an open and inclusive membership model. Supported participation from players of varying abilities and experience levels. Encouraged new players to engage with the sport through introductory and social badminton sessions. Sporting Development Supported player progression through competitive league participation. Enabled members to represent the Club in local and regional competitions. Promoted continued skill development and long-term participation in badminton. Key Achievements During the Year Key activities and achievements included: Successful operation of regular club sessions throughout the year. Continued participation in the Leeds Badminton League and other local competitions. Growth in club membership and player engagement. Delivery of social badminton activities to encourage participation and retention. Recognition of player achievements through Club awards and annual presentations. Successful administration of Club governance, finance, and operational activities.
Morley Challenger CIC regularly engages with its members, committee members, team captains, and venue providers to understand their needs and gather feedback on club activities. Feedback is collected through club sessions, committee meetings, and the Annual General Meeting (AGM), helping to shape decisions on member experience, league participation, coaching opportunities, facility arrangements, and future club development. This ongoing consultation ensures the Club continues to meet its community objectives and provide a positive and inclusive environment for all members.
