The cafe continued to work in the way it has done for the past few years. It was open throughout the year (daytime Tuesday to Sunday , evenings Tuesday to Saturday) regular weekly events - Palestinian supper club on Friday evenings , vegan evening on Thursday evenings , Sunday brunch. Our small shop continued to sell Palestinian products (Pottery , olive wood products, embroidery , olive oil , soap etc) through the cafe and online. On occassion we took the outside to make a small stall. We house regular Saturday Arabic class for children though our adult classes have remained online since Covid. In addition, we have held various community events: open mic poetry , children's workshops (Kite-Making) , film shows , small music events , charity art shows , Arabic calligraphy and summer intensive courses , a mosaic workshop. We have been a stop on charity sponsored walks and donor to local charity fundraising (raffle prizes). Throughout the year we supported the local charity CADFA which was based in the small room downstairs and used the event room for a number of CADFA talks and workshops. We promote the work of CADFA throughout the cafe and contribute to it financially by organising collections , raffles , fundrasing events , giving reductions to CADFA members to encourage membership , organising and promoting Arabic classes (the proceeds went to CADFA) and selling CADFA books and cards on their behalf. We are told by CADFA trustees how much this helped the charity both financially and through promoting their work. We also supported CADFA visits from Palestine in February 2025 , Sept-Oct 2025 and November 2025 , by catering from them and providing the events room for visits workshops and events. We maintain local presence through ads in the newspaper, links to local organisations, attending local fairs and events , and we are watching the cafe become known across the local community. We are grateful for the goodwill and interest that is shown towards us and the good reviews , nice photos and lovely comments that we get. The cafe brings together people of many backgrounds, ages, religions and ethnicities. Its events are inclusive and build respect for human rights. We are effective in supporting the charity CADFA as we had hoped. The cafe is supporting victims of human rights abuses not only through fundraising but by providing a market. We believe we are doing well in relation to our aims, pasted below : To Provide benefit to : The local community by providing a small cafe hosting occassional events with the focus on bringing people from different backgrounds together and building respect for human rights particularly in Palestine. Charitable body/bodies that work to build understanding between people from different backgrounds and to raise awareness of human rights and humanitarian issues particulary in Palestine. Victims of human rights abuses through sales of Palestinian products (pottery, olive wood products ,olive oil , soap etc).

The cafe stakeholders are members of the local community as well as people from further afield who have found us either because we have a relation to Palestine and human rights or because we are a friendly and welcoming venue with tasty food! In addition , members and local groups including the charity CADFA as the current main beneficiary of the cafe work. We should also include our staff : We are happy to have a stable and happy team. Previous consultation meetings were small and we did not run one this year but we have had plenty of oppertunity to talk to people and collect feedback and ideas when they come to use the cafe , attend or run events , bring their children to Arabic classes etc. We have had discussions with the Trustees and members of CADFA and also staff meetings with the team who clearly want the best for the cafe and are full of ideas. We are sent comments , requests and feedback on email, facebook and Instagram.

No remuneration was received

Since the cafe openned , it's main charitable beneficiary has been Camden Abu Dis Friendship Association (CADFA - Charity 1112717). The cafe supports and promotes CADFA in a number of ways , displaying its literature , hosting events and encourageing membership. In 2024-25 , the cafe raised £3,347.83 for CADFA through sales of CADFA goods & raffle tickets and donations at the till. The cafe is also regularly asked to contribute to raffles etc for local schools and community organisations - This year we have given cafe vouchers for three such raffles and two prizes to fundraisers for MAP (Medical Aid for Palestine) Charity 1045315
