Notes to the Financial Statements

for the Period Ended 30 November 2025

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes. Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when goods have been delivered to customers such that risks and rewards of ownership have transferred to them. Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised by reference to the stage of completion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for work performed to date to the total estimated contract costs.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives: 25% reducing balance

    Other accounting policies

Going concern The company meets it's day to day working capital requirements through loan facilities provided by J Briggs, a director of the company, which are repayable on demand. The nature of the company's business is such that there can be considerable unpredictable variation in the timing of cash inflows. The directors have prepared projected cash flow information for the period ending twelve months from the date of approval of these financial statements. On the basis of this cash flow information the directors consider that the company will continue to operate within the facility currently provided. However the margin of facilities over requirements is not large and, inherently there can be no certainty in relation to these matters. On this basis, the directors consider it appropriate to prepare the financial statement on a going concern basis. The financial statements do not include any adjustments that would result from a withdrawal of the loan facilities.

COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

CLEARCOMPANY CIC

Company Number: 11061427 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2025

Company activities and impact

During the year ClearCompany CIC developed That Little Norfolk Shop & Studio as a welcoming, community-focused venue in the heart of Wymondham. Combining a community cafe, retail space for local makers and producers, creative studios and an events venue, the Shop & Studio was created to provide an accessible place where people of all ages and backgrounds could meet, learn, create and participate in community life. Throughout the year, the Company delivered a varied programme of activities designed to promote creativity, wellbeing, social inclusion and community engagement. These included arts and crafts work-shops, live music performances, open mic sessions, comedy evenings, family activities, seasonal celebra-tions, games sessions and opportunities for local artists, makers and performers to showcase their work. The cafe and retail space promoted Norfolk produce and independent businesses, helping to strengthen the local economy while encouraging residents and visitors to support local enterprise. A significant feature of the Company's work was its emphasis on volunteering and participation. Volunteers played a central role in welcoming visitors, supporting events, assisting with cafe operations and helping to create an inclusive environment where people felt valued and connected. The venue also provided opportunities for people to develop confidence, gain new skills and contribute to community life. The Company worked collaboratively with local artists, musicians, community groups and businesses to develop an inclusive programme that responded to local interests and needs. Activities encouraged in-tergenerational participation, reduced social isolation and created opportunities for people to form new friendships and become more actively involved in their community. Beyond the individual events, That Little Norfolk Shop & Studio has become an important community asset, contributing to the vitality of Wymondham town centre by increasing footfall, supporting local enterprise and providing an accessible space for cultural and social activity. Through its combination of creativity, hospitality, volunteering and community partnership, the Company has demonstrated how a locally rooted social enterprise can make a positive contribution to community wellbeing, strengthen social connections and provide lasting social value. The foundations established during this first full re-porting period position the Company well for continued growth and wider community impact in future years.

Consultation with stakeholders

ClearCompany CIC works on the principle that local people are best placed to identify the needs and opportunities within their community. Throughout the reporting period we actively consulted with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure that That Little Norfolk Shop & Studio developed in response to local priorities rather than organisational assumptions. Our principal stakeholders included local residents and users of the venue; young people and families; volunteers; local artists, musicians, craftspeople and independent producers; community and voluntary organisations; local businesses; Wymondham Abbey; South Norfolk District Council and other public sector bodies; schools and youth organisations; wellbeing practitioners; and grant-making bodies and supporters. Consultation took place through a combination of informal conversations at the Shop & Studio and community events, volunteer meetings, social media engagement, questionnaires, community forums, planning meetings and ongoing discussions with partner organisations. We also gathered feedback from participants after activities and encouraged suggestions for new events, improvements to the venue and future priorities. This continuous dialogue enabled us to understand emerging needs and identify barriers to participation, particularly for young people, people experiencing loneliness or poor mental wellbeing, and those facing financial pressures. Stakeholder feedback directly influenced the development of our activities and services. Requests for affordable, welcoming places to meet led to an expansion of creative workshops, music sessions, community events and opportunities for informal social interaction. Young people helped shape the development of youth-focused activities, including the Sound Cafe and supervised social sessions. Feedback from local artists and makers informed the growth of exhibition and retail opportunities, enabling them to showcase and sell their work while collaborating with others. Volunteers played an important role in suggesting improvements to the operation of the venue, event delivery and visitor experience, while partner organisations helped identify opportunities for collaboration and referral. The Company continues to use consultation as an ongoing process rather than a one-off exercise. Feedback is reviewed regularly by those involved in planning and delivering activities and is used to adapt programmes, develop new initiatives and ensure that the Shop & Studio remains an inclusive, respon-sive and community-led resource. This collaborative approach has strengthened community ownership of the project and helped ensure that the Company's activities continue to deliver meaningful social benefit.
