D & R Tutoring Services provides tutoring in the core subjects, mathematics English and Science from primary to secondary level. We have a strong focus on students sitting GCSE and 11+ exams. D & R Tutoring services operates in Lambeth, one of the most deprived boroughs in London. This means parents cannot afford private tuition and therefore we price our services at a very low fee to make it affordable for vulnerable children. We also run a mentoring program to help change the mindset of the rapidly growing youths in the community. We believe that our educational and continuing programs play a vital role in the development of the young men and women in the borough and have a positive impact on society.
The company's stakeholders are learners and parents in and around the Tulse Hill community in Lambeth. Our directors previously taught in a local secondary school and maintain strong communication with learners, parents, and other residents in the community. We ask learners, parents, and residents near our centre to complete a short questionnaire about their tutoring needs, which has helped us build a clear profile of local learner's requirements and how we can meet them more effectively. Our research shows that there are around 205 households in the community with primary and secondary-aged learners who lack access to low-cost tutoring services and would directly benefit from out affordable provision. We also encourage parents and learners to share their ideas through our suggestions box, allowing them to indicate preferred subjects and tutoring services they would like us to offer or improve.
