Notes to the Financial Statements
1. General Information
Stockton Hall Farm Racing LLP is a limited liability partnership, incorporated in England & Wales, registered number OC439288 . The Registered Office is Stockton Hall Farm, Oldcastle, Malpas, Cheshire, SY14 7AE.
2. Accounting Policies
2.1. Early Adoption of Amendments to FRS 102 (Periodic Review 2024)
The LLP has early adopted the amendments to FRS 102, arising from the Financial Reporting Council's Periodic Review 2024, issued in March 2024. These amendments are effective for accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, but the LLP has elected to apply them in these financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2026.
The amendments primarily affect the LLP's accounting for the leasing of a horsebox, MW25 WUM. This asset has been analysed as a 'Right of Use' asset and included on the Balance Sheet with depreciaiton and interst charged in the Profit and Loss Account rather than the physical leasing costs being charged as an expense in the Profit and Loss Account.
The impact of early adoption has resulted in an increase in fixed assets and, conversely, an increase in the liabilities reflected on the Balance Sheet along with an effective rate of interest and depreciation charged to profit.
Further details of the transition and the effect on the financial statements are provided in the notes.
2.2. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements are prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with applicable United Kingdom accounting standards, including Financial Reporting Standard 102 for small limited liability partnerships regime - The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102), The Statement of Recommended Practice 'Accounting by Limited Liability Partnerships' issued in May 2024 (SORP) and the Companies Act 2006 (as applied to LLPs).
The financial statements are prepared in sterling which is the functional currency of the LLP.
2.3. Turnover
Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts and value added taxes. Turnover includes revenue earned from the sale of goods and from the rendering of services.
Sale of goods
Turnover from the sale of goods (merchandise) is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods has transferred to the buyer. This is usually at the point of sale.
Rendering of services
Turnover from the rendering of services is recognised on a monthly basis by the issue of sales invoices.
2.4. Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation
Tangible fixed assets are measured at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of the fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following bases:
Freehold 0%
Leasehold 10% and 20% straight line
Plant & Machinery 20% straight line
Motor Vehicles 20% reducing balance
Fixtures & Fittings 10% straight line
Computer Equipment 33% straight line
2.5. Leases
2.6. Stocks and Work in Progress
