  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    The turnover shown in the profit and loss account represents revenue recognised by the company in respect of goods and services supplied during the period, exclusive of Value Added Tax and trade discounts.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives: Fixtures & fittings33.33% on cost Computer equipment33.33% on cost

    Other accounting policies

    Basis of preparation The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention as modified by the revaluation of certain fixed assets. Presentation currency The accounts are presented in £ sterling.

Company activities and impact

Fashions Finest Community Interest Company is a fashion and creative industries organisation established to provide opportunities, support and increased visibility to emerging and independent designers, models, creatives and other professionals working within the fashion and creative industries. During the financial year, the company continued its work of creating platforms through which emerging and developing creative talent could access opportunities that might otherwise be difficult to obtain. This included the development and promotion of fashion showcases, events, digital content,industry networking and other activities designed to connect emerging talent with audiences, buyers,media, industry professionals and potential commercial partners. The company has continued to support diversity and inclusion within the fashion industry, working with designers and creative talent from different cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds and providing a platform for both UK-based and international talent. Fashions Finest has a particular focus on emerging designers and small creative businesses that may not have the resources, industry connections or visibility available to larger and established fashion brands. The company's activities also provide opportunities for a wider community of creative professionals,including models, photographers, stylists, make-up artists, hair professionals, production personnel,media professionals, students and other individuals working within the creative industries. By bringing these groups together through events and other activities, the company helps create networks,experience and potential employment and commercial opportunities. An important part of the company's community benefit is therefore the creation of access -access to audiences, industry networks, professional experience, publicity, mentoring, collaboration and commercial opportunities. The company's activities are intended not simply to promote fashion, but to contribute to the development of individuals and small businesses within the wider creative economy. Fashions Finest also seeks to promote innovation, sustainability, cultural diversity and creativity within fashion. By providing a platform for new ideas, independent labels and emerging creative voices, the company contributes to a more diverse and accessible fashion industry. The company's overall community interest is to support the development of emerging creative talent and small businesses, increase access to the fashion and creative industries, and create opportunities for individuals who may otherwise face barriers to participation and progression.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders include participating designers, models, creative professionals,event partners, industry professionals, audiences and the wider fashion and creative community. Consultation takes place primarily through direct engagement, meetings,networking and feedback from participants and partners. Feedback is considered when planning and delivering activities and has informed improvements to events, opportunities for participants and industry engagement.
