Company activities and impact

The company has expanded the trade in nuts to enable tenancies on cobnut orchards in Kent. These orchards will be used as test beds for best practice. The company is now looking to invest directly into farms. The company has established a partnership with producer in Kent as part of ongoing work to ensure the continuation of existing nut farming. This with the specific aim of sustaining rural economies and updating current practice to make them economically viable. In practice this involves establishing wood pasture systems which combine nut crops with grazing. This has massive benefits for habitat creation, increasing productivity, as well as subtle benefits around water retention and drought resilience. Supply side- aside from our farms, formalise extra cobnut supplies by working with existing growers diversify and secure supply chain. This gives security fo expand NPD. We have built a nut shelling facility with partners which are accessible for all British nut producers to use. This capacity will be a pivotal addition enabling further agroforestry expansion in the UK. Extend relationships across the nut producing world to offer nut processing scervice; professionalizing the farm to table process, vastly reducing waste, and ultimately improve quality of final product.
