During the financial year, Treasure Your Wellbeing delivered mindfulness and wellbeing training to people of all ages across the North West, regardless of their financial circumstances. By providing free sessions and group activities, we helped remove financial barriers that may otherwise have prevented members of the community from accessing wellbeing support. Our activities helped participants develop practical techniques to manage anxiety, reduce stress and improve sleep. This support is particularly valuable at a time when increasing numbers of people are experiencing mental health difficulties and NHS services are under considerable pressure. Although mindfulness is not a substitute for appropriate medical or mental health treatment, it can provide individuals with useful tools to support their day-to-day wellbeing. During the year, we also received additional funding to deliver a men’s health awareness project. The project encourages men to recognise possible signs of cancer, seek appropriate medical advice and take greater care of their physical health. We produced a series of videos featuring men sharing their real-life experiences, which are available on our website, and delivered accompanying talks to men’s groups across Merseyside and Cheshire. Through these activities, the company has increased access to wellbeing support, encouraged earlier conversations about physical and mental health, and provided people with practical information and techniques to help them take better care of themselves.
