Project 4 Youth Empowerment (P4YE) is a Community Interest Company dedicated to supporting young people through 1:1 and group mentoring, youth and holiday clubs, engaging workshops and detached youth work. Guided by our ethos, ‘Engage & Empower’, we connect with young people in a way that resonates with them, using our skills and experience to provide relatable support. Our commitment is to create safe spaces and opportunities where young people can express themselves and thrive. Passionate about driving change, we strive to make a lasting, positive impact on the communities we serve.

Project 4 Youth Empowerment (CIC) identifies its key stakeholders as the young people directly engaged in its programmes, students within the schools where delivery takes place, parents and carers, and a range of professional and community partners. These professional stakeholders include teachers, mentoring organisations, statutory partners such as the police, Youth Offending Service, social workers and the Croydon Gangs Team, alongside wider voluntary, community and youth organisations. Throughout the year ending 2025, P4YE continued to strengthen the ways in which stakeholders are able to influence the organisation and its work. Consultation takes place through a range of mechanisms, including feedback forms to measure satisfaction and gather suggestions for improvement, structured discussions with parents and carers, and forums with young people and families delivered both online and in person. During programme delivery, anonymous suggestion slips are also made available to enable young people to propose new activities, share ideas or raise concerns safely. Regular meetings with community organisations and statutory partners provide opportunities to exchange information, review progress, identify emerging needs and develop collaborative responses. A key development during the year was the implementation of P4YE’s Youth Steering Group. The Steering Group provides young people with a formal and ongoing platform through which they can influence organisational priorities, programme design, activities and wider decision-making. Young people are supported to contribute their experiences, ideas and perspectives and to provide constructive challenge on matters affecting the organisation and the communities it serves. Youth voice is now embedded across all areas of P4YE’s organisation and delivery, rather than being limited to individual consultation exercises. Young people’s views inform the development and review of programmes, the identification of emerging needs, activity planning, organisational priorities and approaches to engagement. Feedback gathered through consultations, delivery sessions and the Youth Steering Group is reviewed by the organisation and, where feasible, incorporated into project development and delivery. P4YE also uses this process to communicate back to young people about how their contributions have influenced decisions, strengthening transparency and accountability. The implementation of the Youth Steering Group has therefore provided an important additional layer of participation and accountability. It ensures that young people have a recognised role in shaping the organisation and reinforces P4YE’s commitment to meaningful participation, co-production and placing young people at the centre of its mission, governance, development and day-to-day operations.
