| Turnover |
| Turnover represents the fair value of consideration received and receivable for services provided, property rents and goods sold for the year, excluding Value Added Tax. |
| Tangible fixed assets |
| Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation. |
| Depreciation is calculated to write off assets to their net realisable value over their estimated useful lives at the following annual rates: |

| Investments in subsidiary undertakings are recognised at cost. |
| Investment property |
| Investment property is shown at most recent valuation. Any aggregate surplus or deficit arising from changes in fair value is recognised in profit or loss. |
