Thrive Outside CIC has run regular outdoor woodwork and craft sessions in Homestead Park York. There have been free sessions every Friday for all members of the community but specifically targeting those that may be isolated and experiencing physical and/or emotion well being issues. Over 100 people attended the sessions which are targeted at people who are ‘economically inactive’, and which supports confidence building and breaking the cycle of non engagement. In addition we ran family sessions throughout the year.
People gained a great deal from the activities, being in nature and meeting others in their community. We continue to link with organisations such as Mind, social prescribers, local area coordinators and nature based organizations. Intergenerational sessions help to support all ages in the community. The stakeholders bring skills to share with others in sessions. We have built on the range of traditional skills we can offer. We have developed links with the university of York St John and 8 students have participated in placements, enhancing the intergenerational nature of our offer as well as work experience for students. We continued work with partnership organisation, Better Connect, supporting adults experiencing mental health issues who are struggling in work or out of work. We have worked with students from York university producing an impact report and our partnership with Homestead park continue to contribute to their community development.
The total amount paid to the directors in respect of qualifying services was £26,350 (2024 - £24,027) There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
