COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

SHORT SUPPLY MCR CIC

Company Number: 13762532 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2025

Company activities and impact

During the financial year, Short Supply continued to support early-career artists across Greater Manchester and the North of England, with a particular focus on working-class, queer and otherwise underrepresented creatives who face barriers to accessing opportunities in the arts. Our activities included MADE IT 2025, the sixth annual North West Graduate Art Prize and exhibition, which provided more than 25 emerging regional artists with professional exhibition experience, promotion and opportunities to develop their networks. We also delivered exhibitions, public events, workshops, mentoring and professional-development activity through programmes including ShortCut and ART SWAP, alongside paid commissions, placements and freelance opportunities. We shared free, accessible information through BRUSH UP, our digital resource series for artists. One 2025 release received more than 500 downloads and brought 250 new people into our support network within its first 24 hours. We also worked with partners to place artists’ work in public and community settings, including large-scale billboard projects with BUILDHOLLYWOOD. Overall, our work engaged more than 6,000 people during 2024–25. These activities benefited the community by creating fairer routes into the arts, increasing the visibility of emerging artists, sharing practical knowledge freely and providing welcoming opportunities for people to build skills, confidence and professional connections.
