COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

GRASSROOTS GARDEN CIC

Company Number: 13767644 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 30 November 2025

Company activities and impact

During this 4th year of trading, Grassroots Garden has increased the growing capacity on our site, which has resulted in more food being produced. In addition, the provision of weekly veg bags to members of our community has risen via word of mouth, and we have increased our local wholesale sales, resulting in reduced food-miles and increased food security in our area. We have also extended our knowledge sharing with more volunteer engagements and workshops, as well as more community involvement through our work with other local CICs and local council. Donations of veg to food banks increased, as well as seed donations for a local annual seed swap.

Consultation with stakeholders

Stakeholders are local residents, our volunteers, workshop attendees, food banks and veg box customers. The local food bank has continued to receive donations from us, which feeds local households experiencing food poverty, or gets turned into nutritious meals destined for people in insecure or emergency accommodation. Other local food-bank-type projects have also received donations and are happy with what we give. Our CSA members are in contact with us via email and whatsapp, and we have had fantastic feedbank as well as recipe sharing. We continue to listen to our members to shape which vegetables to grow. Our volunteers have illustrated that they are benefiting from their attendance with us at our weekly volunteer days, and continue to work with us to grow together. Workshops on food preservation and food growing have been well attended, and well received. Planning of growing, workshops and volunteer days are adjusted according to feedback received.

Directors' remuneration

Total directors remuneration included within the accounts for 2 directors was £13,963.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
