    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Other accounting policies

    1b. Policy For Preparation Of Accounts The directors believe that the company is experiencing satisfactory levels of income, and that it is well placed to manage its business risks successfully. Accordingly they have a reasonable expectation that the company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus they continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.

Company activities and impact

During the financial year, the company delivered a range of creative and performing arts activities designed to support community engagement, wellbeing and access to the arts, with a particular focus on families, new parents and young children. Delivered weekly creative play and story telling sessions at a community venue in South Liverpool, providing young children and families with opportunities to engage in creative and imaginative activities within their local community. Delivered dance sessions in Liverpool city centre for new mothers to attend with their babies, supporting physical activity, wellbeing and social connection for new parents. Contributed to research for LJMU around mothers in early stages of parenting. Created and delivered theatrical storytelling sessions at a range of cultural events, providing accessible and engaging arts experiences for children and families. Worked collaboratively with other arts organisations to develop an early years Winter and Christmas programme, designed to be accessible to families through performances in both theatres and community paces. Through these activities, the company contributed to the local community by increasing access to high quality creative experiences, supporting family wellbeing and encouraging participation in the arts among young children and their families

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders include participants and families who attend our sessions and activities, as well as partner organisations and collaborators, including Culture Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), Shakespeare North, Unity Theatre and Theatre Porto. We engage with and consult our stakeholders through a range of methods. These include our online and social media presence, where we communicate regularly with participants, families and other stakeholders; informal discussions and conversations within our group sessions; and feedback and suggestion forms. We also maintain regular communication and meetings with partner organisations and collaborators, providing opportunities to discuss feedback, review our activities and identify areas for development. Feedback from participants, families, organisations and collaborators is considered when planning and delivering our activities. Where appropriate, we respond to feedback by adapting sessions, developing new activities and making changes to our approach to ensure that our work continues to meet the needs and interests of the communities we work with.
