During the financial year, Pride of Romany CIC continued to preserve, celebrate and increase understanding of British Romany heritage, history and culture. The company progressed the Atchin Tan Heritage Project, supported by Historic England. Activities during the year included the research, development and production of a documentary, the creation and curation of exhibition material, and the delivery and preparation of associated heritage events and activities. The project provided opportunities for Romany people to contribute to the recording and presentation of their own heritage and experiences, helping to preserve this material for future generations. It also enabled wider audiences to engage with Romany history and culture, increasing awareness and understanding and helping to challenge misinformation and stereotypes surrounding the community. The company's income during the year was used principally to deliver these activities, including documentary production, exhibition development, venues, events, travel and staffing required to support the project.
Throughout the financial year, Pride of Romany CIC consulted and engaged with members of the Romany and Traveller community to help inform the development and delivery of its heritage activities. This engagement was important in ensuring that the Atchin Tan Heritage Project reflected lived experience and enabled members of the community to contribute to the recording, interpretation and presentation of their own heritage. The CIC also engaged with a range of external stakeholders and partner organisations during the development and delivery of the project, including Historic England, Cheshire East Council, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Nantwich Museum and The Traveller Movement. Discussions with these organisations covered areas including heritage interpretation, community engagement, project delivery, exhibition and event activity, and opportunities to increase public understanding of Romany heritage. Feedback and ongoing dialogue with community members and project stakeholders helped shape the content and presentation of the project, including the development of exhibition material, documentary content and associated public-facing activity. This consultation supported the CIC's aim of presenting Romany heritage accurately and respectfully, while making it accessible to wider audiences and challenging misinformation and stereotypes.
The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £9,407.65. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director's loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
