| 2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Basis of preparing the financial statements
Related party exemption
The company has taken advantage of exemption, under the terms of Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland', not to disclose related party transactions with wholly owned subsidiaries within the group.
Going concern
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. The company had net liabilities at the year end. The company's parent undertaking, Reckon Limited, has agreed to provide support for the company for at least twelve months following the date of approval of the financial statements. In addition, the parent company directors have prepared a going concern assessment for the group, including the company, based on forecasts for a period up to December 2027, including realistic downside scenarios. On this basis, the directors have a reasonable expectation that the company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. The directors therefore continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements.
Turnover
Turnover represents subscription income which is recognised evenly over the subscription contract period.
Financial instruments
Basic financial instruments in debtors and creditors with no stated interest rate, and receivable or payable within one year are recorded at transaction price. Any losses arising from impairment are recognised in the Income Statement within other administrative expenses.
Other financial assets and liabilities, such as loans, are measured initially at fair value, net of transaction costs, and are subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method.
Taxation
Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity.
Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted.
Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date.
Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.
Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.
