Company activities and impact

During the financial year, Fur & Fields Farm CIC continued to develop its animal-assisted intervention and community wellbeing services. The company provides therapeutic animal experiences designed to support emotional wellbeing, social engagement, and connection with nature. The company’s activities also focused on the ongoing care, rehabilitation, and welfare of rescue animals used within the programmes. This work provides long-term benefit to both the animals and the community by creating meaningful therapeutic interactions and increasing awareness of animal welfare. In addition to direct sessions, the year was used to establish infrastructure, develop service provision, and prepare for expanded delivery of animal-assisted interventions to vulnerable individuals, including children and those with additional needs. The company continues to operate for the benefit of the community by improving access to nature-based wellbeing activities, supporting animal rescue and welfare, and providing therapeutic experiences that promote social and emotional development.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders include service users and participants in animal experiences, families and carers, members of the local community, volunteers, and professionals working with individuals accessing the services. Stakeholder feedback has been gathered informally through direct conversations, session feedback, and ongoing communication with participants and their families. This feedback has been used to shape the development of services, improve session delivery, and ensure that activities meet the needs of participants. As a result of stakeholder feedback, the company has continued to focus on providing calm, supportive animal interactions, maintaining high standards of animal welfare, and developing services for individuals who benefit from therapeutic engagement with animals. The company intends to continue engaging with stakeholders as services expand to ensure activities remain beneficial to the community.
