Notes to the Financial Statements

for the Period Ended 31 December 2025

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable. Turnover is reduced for estimated customer returns, rebates and other similar allowances. Revenue from the sale of goods is recognised when all the following conditions are satisfied: the Company has transferred to the buyer the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods; the Company retains neither continuing managerial involvement to the degree usually associated with ownership nor effective control over the goods sold; the amount of revenue can be measured reliably; it is probable that the economic benefits associated with the transaction will flow to the Company; and the costs incurred or to be incurred in respect of the transaction can be measured reliably.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

Tangible fixed assets held for the company's own use are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and accumulated impairment losses. At each balance sheet date, the company reviews the carrying amount of its tangible fixed assets to determine whether there is any indication that any items have suffered an impairment loss. If any such indication exists, the recoverable amount of an asset is estimated in order to determine the extent of the impairment loss. Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off the cost or valuation less the estimated residual value of each asset over its estimated useful life: Plant and machinery 25% reducing balance

    Other accounting policies

Taxation Income tax expense represents the sum of the tax currently payable and deferred tax. The tax currently payable is based on taxable profit for the year. Taxable profit differs from the surplus as reported in the income and expenditure account because of items of income or expense that are taxable or deductible in other years and items that are never taxable or deductible. The Company's liability for current tax is calculated using tax rates that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the end of the reporting period. Trade and other debtors Trade and other debtors are initially recognised at fair value and thereafter stated at amortised cost using the effective interest method, less impairment losses for bad and doubtful debts. Trade and other creditors Short term creditors are measured at the transaction price. Other financial liabilities, including bank loans, are measured initially at fair value, net of transaction costs, and are measured subsequently at amortised cost using the effective interest method.

Company activities and impact

The companys activities provided benefit to Disabled people. In particular but not exclusively: disabled young people, including those experiencing poor mental health disabled people working in, or intending to work in, the performing arts As well as benefiting the wider public. In the period above, Blue Badge Bunch CIC delivered workshops and performances to the following organisations: Nethergate Academy Nottingham Pound Arts Sheffield Libraries The Garage Norwich Krishna Avanti School The English Theatre Rotherham Libraries Albany Theatre Portland College Blend Youth Project, Chesterfield We launched a talent programme for Disabled creatives and performers, and trained three artists -Gabby Rolls, Kevin Randell and Calum Brennan. We provided freelance work for Disabled performers and opportunities for early career Disabled artists. Our workshops and performances are routed in interactive, digital experiences and gaming. Providing fun and exciting ways for children and adults to learn about disability without shame or stigma. We developed and continue to develop our branding, marketing, show content, workshops, team and networking reach.

Consultation with stakeholders

We developed workshops with Krishna Avanti (KA) school with access to nearly 300 children in 2 days from a diverse range of faiths & cultures. The School Stakeholder Committee Chair Dipesh Dave took the review to a Trust meeting & we developed the activity based on this. We worked with the Disabled Artist Networking Community (Triple C) to train and upskill our leaders. We work regularly with Blend, a youth group in our local area run by Valley CIDS at Turner Farm in Nottinghamshire for children with additional needs. It is important that our activities and theatre shows are co-created with the children in order to accurately represent their experience and so they have ownership of how they are presented. The Talent Programme us inspired by the disabled artists we have worked with. Most are recovering from covid related health/financial barriers, preventing them from deciphering the industry & managing physical & social barriers. We have listened, advised & provided networking & signposting, and we are becoming a “go-to” company for Disabled performers to gain advice, guidance and opportunities. We are becoming a renowned organisation for training & performance whose accreditation can advance the careers of disabled performers. In all, we reached over 2,000 young people in the year above with our activities, and around 200 Disabled performers with opportunities and guidance.
