Consultation with stakeholders

The Academy was launched following ongoing consultation with local skills and education partners, including Oldham College, Oldham 6th Form, and Newbridge school, and third sector organisations, including Women Chai Project CIC, Oasis Hub, and Spark Oldham. Stakeholders were consulted when determining the nature of the training programme, creating the size and scope of delivery, and how best to access and support hard to reach groups. In 2025 we received grant funding via the National Lottery Community Fund, to support further delivery of our services. CIC Founder and director, Rubena Begum, was recognised as Young Entrepreneur of the Year, 2025, in the Biz Women’s Awards, and the 2025 Oldham Business Awards. To date we have delivered training to 316 young female leaners and adult female learners through our POWER+ Program.
