NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 29 JUNE 2026

1. STATUTORY INFORMATION

Alumet Ltd is a private company, limited by shares , registered in England and Wales. The company's registered number and registered office address can be found on the Company Information page.

The presentation currency of the financial statements is the Pound Sterling (£).

2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" including the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

Key sources of estimation uncertainty
Long-term contracts
The recognition of revenue and profit on long-term contracts is dependent on the estimated stage of completion of each contract. The stage of completion is determined by comparing costs incurred to date with the total estimated costs required to complete the contract.

The estimation of costs to complete is based on information available at the reporting date, including expected labour requirements, material and subcontractor costs and the anticipated progress of each contract. Actual costs and outcomes may differ from these estimates.

Management reviews contract forecasts regularly and revisions to estimated costs to complete, contract revenue and expected profitability are reflected in the financial statements in the period in which they become known.

Revenue recognition
Turnover represents amounts receivable for goods and services supplied during the year, net of VAT and trade discounts.

Revenue from long-term contracts is recognised over time by reference to the stage of completion of each contract where the outcome of the contract can be estimated reliably. The stage of completion is determined by reference to costs incurred to date as a proportion of the total estimated costs required to complete the contract.

Revenue is recognised based on the resulting percentage of completion applied to the total expected contract revenue. Contract costs are recognised as expenses in the period in which they are incurred.
Estimates of total contract revenue and costs to complete are reviewed regularly and revised where necessary. The effect of any change in estimate is recognised in the period in which the change is identified.

Where it is probable that total contract costs will exceed total contract revenue, the expected loss is recognised immediately.

Tangible fixed assets
Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life.
Plant and machinery - 100% on cost
Computer equipment - 33% on cost

2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES - continued

Stocks
Stocks and work in progress are valued at the lower of cost and net realisable value, after making due allowance for obsolete and slow moving items.

Cost is calculated using the first-in, first-out method and includes all purchase, transport, and handling costs in bringing stocks to their present location and condition.

Financial instruments
Basic financial assets, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, are initially measured at transaction price including transaction costs and are subsequently carried at amortised cost using the effective interest method unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the transaction is measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial assets classified as receivable within one year are not amortised.

Taxation
Taxation for the year comprises current tax. Tax is recognised in the Statement of Income and Retained Earnings, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity.

Current taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted.

Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date.

Hire purchase and leasing commitments
Rentals paid under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight line basis over the period of the lease.

Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits
The company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the company's pension scheme are charged to profit or loss in the period to which they relate.
