COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

HEARTS UNITED CIC

Company Number: 16314405 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 28 February 2026

Company activities and impact

During the past financial year, Hearts United CIC has continued to improve heart health within the community through preventative cardiac screening, CPR education, health improvement programmes and awareness activities. Working in partnership with CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), we supported the delivery of approximately 800 free cardiac screenings for young people during the year. These screenings identified approximately 80 individuals requiring further medical referral, ensuring potential cardiac concerns could be investigated. We also delivered CPR and defibrillator awareness training, providing 738 people with lifesaving skills and increasing confidence within the community to respond during a cardiac emergency. Our Healthy Hearts programme supported 88 participants, encouraging increased physical activity, improved confidence and better overall wellbeing through accessible community-based activities. Our work has been supported through grants, fundraising, sponsorship, volunteers, community partnerships and local support. Some funding raised for cardiac screening has been paid directly to CRY, who deliver the specialist screening service on behalf of Hearts United CIC. This ensures funds are used specifically to provide screening clinics and deliver community benefit.

Consultation with stakeholders

Hearts United CIC engages with participants, volunteers, community groups, partner organisations, funders and sponsors to understand local needs and ensure activities continue to provide meaningful benefit. Feedback is gathered through participant conversations, programme reviews and engagement with delivery partners. Feedback from our Healthy Hearts participants has highlighted increased confidence, improved wellbeing and motivation to continue healthier lifestyles. This feedback has helped shape future programmes and activities. We continue to work closely with community partners, schools, sports clubs, healthcare professionals and volunteers to identify opportunities to increase access to heart health education, screening and lifesaving skills.
