Basis of preparing the financial statements
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" including the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" and the Companies Act 2006.
The financial statements are prepared in Sterling, which is the functional currency of the company. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £1.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
Going concern
Accounting standards require the directors to consider the appropriateness of the going concern basis when preparing the financial statements. The directors confirm that they consider that the going concern basis remains appropriate. The directors believe that the company has sufficient resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. The directors believe this to be the case as the company has positive reserves and cash balances and no significant long term liabilities.
Having regard to the above, the directors believe it is appropriate to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
Preparation of consolidated financial statements
The financial statements contain information about Quantec Consultants Limited as an individual company and do not contain consolidated financial information as the parent of a group. The company is exempt under Section 399(2A) of the Companies Act 2006 from the requirements to prepare consolidated financial statements.
Turnover
Turnover represents revenue earned for services provided to clients. Revenue is recognised as earned when, and to the extent that, the company obtains the right to consideration in exchange for its performance under those contracts. It is measured at the fair value of the right to consideration, which represents amounts chargeable to clients, including recoverable expenses, but excluding Value Added Tax. For incomplete contracts, as assessment is made of the extent to which revenue has been earned. This assessment takes into account the nature of the assignment, its stage of completion and relevant contract terms. Unbilled revenue is included in debtors under 'other debtors'. Revenue received in advance is included in creditors, under 'other creditors'.
