The core of our work is to promote and support local businesses, events and community projects, helping them to be more visible and accessible to the people of Kettering. During the financial year, we built our social media platforms to over 10,000 followers combined, enabling us to amplify the work and contributions of local businesses and community organisations. This included sharing existing content, creating bespoke content focused on individual businesses, and promoting key local events. Much of our first year focused on building this foundation and developing trust within the community. As a result, we formed a number of key partnerships which are developing into further community projects. With the support of a number of sponsors, we also created a public art piece to improve a previously derelict landmark in Kettering town centre. The project generated significant community engagement and has helped provide a foundation for similar projects planned for the future. Through these activities, the company has supported the visibility of local businesses, promoted community events and contributed to improving and celebrating Kettering town centre for the benefit of the local community.
Our stakeholders are made up of local businesses, event promoters and community organisations, as well as the general public in our town. The nature of our offering - resharing and promoting across our social channels - keeps us in constant dialogue with these stakeholders. A key early action in response to feedback was to keep our platforms neutral and independent of any political leanings or discussion. We have developed clear guidelines on what we deem unsuitable content, while remaining as accessible and inclusive as possible.
