CHRISTIANS IN FOOTBALL

Directors' report period ended 31 August 2026

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 August 2026

Principal activities of the company

To advance the Christian faith in accordance with its Statement of Beliefs in the UK and such other parts of the world as the directors of the charity may as from time to time think fit by promoting the involvement in sport by churches, inter church groups and individuals and to fulfil such other purposes which are exclusively charitable and are connected to the charitable work of the charity.

Additional information

In the year to 31st August 2026, 39 teams from across England and Wales participated in the National Christian Cup and Trophy with the cup final being held at tier 6 side Bedford Town FC and the trophy at the Hemel Hempstead Town FC, also tier 6. The cup and trophy enable Christian-based football teams to network and encourage one another. There is also opportunity to practically demonstrate to others the difference being in a church-based Christian team makes. In Summer 2026, CIF undertook a tour to Western France, based at Spring Harvest in the Vendee region where our team of players from across the CIF network played three games against local sides. We were able to share the good news of Jesus after each game and were well received throughout. During the year the charity’s reserves increased from £3,069.52 to £5,289.94 The increase is mainly due to the lower costs associated with not using the league ground at Burton Albion for the Trophy final, coupled with additional tour income (although the final tour figures are not finalised and will carry over to 26/27).
