| The financial statements contain information about Compass Financial (UK) Limited as an individual company and do not contain consolidated financial information as the parent of a group. The company is exempt under Section 399(2A) of the Companies Act 2006 from the requirements to prepare consolidated financial statements. |

| Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits |
| The Company operates a defined contribution plan for its employees. A defined contribution plan is a pension plan which the Company pays fixed contributions into a separate entity. Once the contributions have been paid the Company has no further payment obligations. |
| The contributions are recognised as an expense in profit or loss when they fall due. Amounts not paid are shown in accruals as a liability in the balance sheet. The assets of the plan are held separately from the Company in independently administered funds. |
| Operating leases: the company as lessee |
| Rentals payable under operating leases are charged to profit or loss on a straight-line basis over the lease term. Lease incentives received are recognised as an integral part of the total lease expense over the term of the lease. |
| The Company has applied the recognition exemption available under FRS 102 in respect of short-term leases and leases for which the underlying asset is of low value, where applicable. |
