Principal activity The company's principal activity during the period was the delivery of free community programmes supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people across the London Borough of Lewisham and neighbouring boroughs (Greenwich, Southwark, Lambeth and Croydon), including digital literacy, education and language support, employment and career support, arts and movement, and life skills programmes, together with dance sessions delivered in schools, 1-2-1 digital literacy support and more in exchange for donations. Further detail on the company's activities is set out in the Community Interest Company Report (Form CIC34) accompanying these accounts.
The company’s stakeholders include the children, young people, adults, families, volunteers, community members, partner organisations, schools and local community groups who engage with DreamCatchers WorldWide UK CIC (DCWUK). We regularly consult with our stakeholders to understand their needs, experiences and priorities and to ensure that our programmes remain relevant, accessible and responsive to the communities we serve. We use a range of methods to gather feedback and inform our work. These include feedback questionnaires following programmes and events, 1-to-1 conversations, interviews, informal discussions, focus questions during sessions and wider community research. We also use outreach events and community engagement activities to speak directly with people who may not otherwise access our programmes. This gives us opportunities to understand barriers to participation, identify gaps in provision and gather suggestions for new activities or improvements. Our programme teams and volunteers are encouraged to listen to participants throughout their engagement with DCWUK and to record ideas, concerns and suggestions. We use participant feedback to review how programmes are delivered, including session times, locations, content, accessibility and the types of support provided. For example, feedback from participants can help us identify when additional digital support, employment guidance, educational activities or creative opportunities are needed. We also consult with partner organisations, schools and community stakeholders through meetings, 1-to-1 discussions, interviews and collaborative planning. Their local knowledge helps us to understand emerging community needs and avoid duplicating existing provision. Research and information gathered through these conversations, alongside feedback from our participants, helps inform the development of new programmes and partnerships. We aim to ensure that consultation is an ongoing process rather than something that only takes place at the end of a programme. By combining questionnaires, direct conversations, interviews, research, outreach and regular engagement with our stakeholders, we can continually learn from the communities we work with and use their feedback to shape and improve DCWUK’s programmes and services.
