HAWICK REIVERS ASSOCIATION (REGISTERED NUMBER: SC281910)

REPORT OF THE DIRECTORS
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST MAY 2026

THE 2026 FESTIVAL
Achievements
The committee are very happy to report on another successful Reivers Festival.
We were particularly pleased with the success of our new venues - both outdoor and in - all of which proved successful and greatly added to the atmosphere and general ambience of the various events.
The indoor venues (Hawick Rugby Club, Evergreen Hall and Baptist Church) also served to reduce the setup workload which previously fell to the volunteer committee.
The weather for 2026 was, for the most part, kind and allowed the Wee Haugh as a venue to show its full potential with the area being busy throughout the day. The committee received a lot of positive feedback on this from stall holders, re-enactors, performers and the general public.
Our links with the Ulster Scots Agency were again strengthened by the attendance of 31 children and staff from Lisbellaw Primary school in County Fermanagh, together with a small contingent from the agency itself.
We continue to receive massive support from the local community who turn out in large numbers to support our festival and help us welcome the many visitors to the town

As always the committee is indebted to all our funders, sponsors, advertisers and volunteers for helping deliver what was yet again,, a very successful and memorable Hawick Reivers Festival.

This report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD:

Dr C S C Elliott - Director
