NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2025
| 1. | STATUTORY INFORMATION |
South Downs Estates Limited is a private company, limited by shares, registered in England and Wales. The
company's registered number and registered office address can be found on the Company Information page.
The presentation currency of the financial statements is the Pound Sterling (£) and amounts are rounded to the nearest pound.
| 2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
Basis of preparing the financial statements
Accounting Basis
As stated in the accounting policy note, these financial statements have been prepared on the basis that the company will continue to be a going concern. During the year the company made a profit of £8,391, and as at the year end the current liabilities exceeded current assets by £623,543.
The validity of this basis depends upon the continued support of the company's director. The director confirms that he will give the required support.
Turnover
Turnover is recognised at the fair value of rental income received or receivable in the normal course of business, and is shown net of VAT (where applicable) and other sales related taxes. The fair value of consideration takes into account any settlement discounts.
Tangible fixed assets
| Fixtures and fittings | - |
Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost (or deemed cost) or valuation less accumulated depreciation and accumulated impairment losses. Cost includes costs directly attributable to making the asset capable of operating as intended.
The gain or loss arising on the disposal of an asset is determined as the difference between the saleproceeds and the carrying value of the asset, and is credited or charged to profit or loss.
Investment property
Investment property, which is property held to earn rentals and/or for capital appreciation, is initially recognised at cost, which includes the purchase cost and any directly attributable expenditure. Subsequently it is measured at fair value (which, in the opinion of the director, approximates to its cost) at the reporting end date. Changes in fair value are recognised in profit or loss.
Financial instruments
Debtors and creditors with no stated interest rate and receivable or payable within one year are recorded at transaction price. Any losses arising from impairment are recognised in the profit and loss account in other administrative expenses.
Taxation
Taxation for the year comprises current and deferred tax. Tax is recognised in the Income Statement, except to the extent that it relates to items recognised in other comprehensive income or directly in equity.
Current or deferred taxation assets and liabilities are not discounted.
Current tax is recognised at the amount of tax payable using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the balance sheet date.

FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2025
| 2. | ACCOUNTING POLICIES - continued |
Deferred tax
Deferred tax is recognised in respect of all timing differences that have originated but not reversed at the balance sheet date.
Timing differences arise from the inclusion of income and expenses in tax assessments in periods different from those in which they are recognised in financial statements. Deferred tax is measured using tax rates and laws that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the year end and that are expected to apply to the reversal of the timing difference.
Unrelieved tax losses and other deferred tax assets are recognised only to the extent that it is probable that they will be recovered against the reversal of deferred tax liabilities or other future taxable profits.
Going concern
The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis, not withstanding the company's net liabilities, as the director of the company confirms that there is adequate working capital for at least 12 months from the date of approval of these accounts. Thus the director continues to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
