GREEN FUTURES DEVON CIC HAS DEVELOPED SEVERAL KEY INITIATIVES OVER THE LAST 12 MONTHS : THE PESTICIDE - FREE DEVON NETWORK - WORKING WITH A RANGE OF INDIVIDUALS, COMMUNITY GROUPS, LOCAL COUNCILS AND PRIVATE SECTOR ORGANISATIONS IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES ACROSS DEVON, TO REDUCE PESTICIDE USE IN A WIDE RANGE OF SITUATIONS AND DEVELOP LOCAL ENGAGEMENT AND SUPPORT. THE DEVON FARM FUTURES INITIATIVE - WORKING WITH FARMERS IN TWO PILOT PROJECTS TO HELP THEM REDUCE THEIR USE OF PESTICIDES AND MONITOR THEIR BOTANICAL AND INVERTEBRATE BIODIVERSITY. THE PLANTS OUT OF PLACE WEED MANAGEMENT SURVEY - ENABLING EVERY TOWN AND PARISH COUNCIL ACROSS DEVON TO ASSESS HOW THEY MANAGE AND CONTROL WEEDS IN THE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA FOR WHICH THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE AND TO EXPLORE HOW THEY CAN REDUCE THE USE OF PESTICIDES WITHIN THESE ACTIVITIES. THESE ACTIVITIES HAVE HAD A POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE RESILIENCE OF OUR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT THROUGH A REDUCTION IN THE THE DIRECT AND INDIRECT IMPACTS OF PESTICIDES ON THE HEALTH AND REPRODUCTIVE ABILITY OF A RANGE OF WILD PLANTS AND INVERTEBRATES. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN A REDUCTION OF THE RISK POSED BY PESTICIDES TO HUMAN HEALTH.
OUR STAKEHOLDERS EXIST ACROSS ALL SECTORS OF OUR COMMUNITY - LOCAL RESIDENTS, OTHER COMMUNITY GROUPS AND ORGANISATIONS, LOCAL GOVERNMENT, PRIVATE SECTOR ORGANISATIONS, LANDOWNERS AND FARMERS. ALL OF OUR PROJECT DEVELOPMENT WORK IS BASED ON A DIALOGUE WITH OUR STAKEHOLDERS SO THE DESIGN OF DEVON FARM FUTURES AND THE PLANTS OUT OF PLACE INITIATIVES BOTH INVOLVED REQUESTS FOR DESIGN FEEDBACK FROM KEY STAKEHOLDERS SUCH AS LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICERS, COUNCILLORS AND FARMERS.
A TOTAL OF £7878 WAS PAID TO SOME OF THE DIRECTORS FOR THEIR CONTRACTED SERVICES. NO AMOUNTS WERE PAID AS DIRECTORS FEES.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
