Integritas Healthcare CIC incorporated in 2012. It is a Christian faith-inspired medical NGO (non-government organisation) with a heart for detainees of all faiths and none through the provision of five services - healthcare, expertise, advocacy, research and training. The company's activities continue to provide benefit to detainees, ex-detainees and their dependents in need of its services. -Healthcare provision to thousands of Filipino police detainees, amongst others. -Expertise in writing torture & ill-treatment reports, to assist abused detainees in their quest for justice. -Advocacy through feeding program for Filipino police detainees & other projects, advocating for compliance with the Nelson Mandela Rules. -Research into how detainees wish the services to develop. -Training has included direct training of Filipino and UK trainee healthcare professionals in the care of the stakeholder groups and in-direct training to anyone with access to the internet, via its informative web pages about appropriate care for and treatment of detainees.
Feedback on healthcare and training services remains critically important to the organisation as it seeks to improve and develop services provided. This year a Quality Improvement Project sought to improve feedback from a key stakeholder group: detainees. The project was successful with a 20% increase in completed surveys including better representation from under-represented groups such as females or those who may be LGBTQ. The overwhelming feedback was that detainees valued receiving free, quality healthcare, medicine and feeding. The plea was for more such care to be made available. Finding ways to do as much as possible with limited resources is at the heart of Integritas’s operations. It will continue to demonstrate its heart for detainees by striving to reach more detainees with more support in the year ahead.
