Farm Wild CIC runs a market garden, orchard and wild meadow. The fourth year has focused our community and educational events/workshops. We are in the process of shifting the market garden to be more sustainable and less input heavy. This has further extended our reach into our communities and has connected more people to the farm and nature. We collaborated with Nourish community who have grown in the market garden this year too. Intense weather restricted our selling, but we still sold to local vegetable box schemes, and local businesses. We have had new volunteers joining and new people coming along to our workshops and events, using the farm as a way to connect with nature, gain new skills and learn about the natural world. In the wild meadow we continued our Nature Bereavement Group where people shared their stories in a relaxing outdoor space. We have also hosted multiple schools, connecting children with nature, food growing and cooking. These events have brought people together to share in song and conversation and have given them a place to feel connected to their natural surroundings.
We have no dedicated shareholders, but we continually work with our community to create chances to connect with nature and people which work for them. We also have collaborated with Nourish community which has helped to shape where and how much produce we have to offer to local businesses and the local community. We have also been supported via local funding bids and funding from businesses which has helped us propel our offerings to all regardless of income. With funding, we have certain duties to fulfil which have also shaped our work.
The directors were paid a total of £17,828 in the year. The directors are also owed £10,955 by the business for monies loaned. This figure is unchanged from the previous year.
