During its first trading period, Puremaid CIC has established itself as a cleaning services provider carrying out window cleaning and other specialised building and industrial cleaning services (SIC codes 81221, 81222, 81229 and 81299) in and around the Bolton area. As a community interest company, the company's purpose extends beyond commercial cleaning work: it has provided local, affordable and reliable cleaning services to residential and small business customers in the community, while creating part-time and casual employment opportunities for local people, including individuals who might otherwise face barriers to employment. DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks have been obtained for staff working in and around clients' homes and premises, reflecting the company's commitment to safeguarding and to building trust with the community it serves. The company has also incurred expenditure on volunteering-related activities carried out in support of the local community alongside its core cleaning work. As a first-period, early-stage company, activity during the period has been modest and focused on setting up operations, recruiting and vetting staff, and building a client base, with the intention of expanding its community impact as the company grows.
As this was the company's first, short trading period following incorporation on 8 October 2024, formal structured consultation mechanisms (such as surveys or community meetings) had not yet been established. The people who benefit from the company's activities, its cleaning clients, and casual staff have been consulted informally, through direct day-to-day contact with the director, feedback on completed jobs, and word-of-mouth within the local community. The director intends to develop more formal channels for community feedback as the company's activities grow in future periods.
