  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover represents income received and receivable from the provision of mixed martial arts training, memberships and related activities, together with sponsorship and other income arising from the company's activities. Turnover is recognised in the period in which the relevant services are provided.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and impairment. Depreciation is provided on a straight-line basis over the estimated useful economic lives of the assets. Plant and machinery is depreciated over five years.

Company activities and impact

Ardoyne MMA C.I.C. continued to provide accessible mixed martial arts, fitness and physical activity opportunities to children, young people and adults within Ardoyne and the wider North Belfast community. During the financial year, the company operated regular MMA training sessions for both junior and adult members, providing a safe and structured environment where participants could improve their physical fitness, confidence, discipline and social skills. The company continued to focus on making martial arts accessible within the local community and providing positive activities for children and young people. Training gives young people an opportunity to develop new skills, build friendships, improve self-confidence and take part in regular physical activity under the supervision of experienced coaches. Ardoyne MMA also provides a community environment for adults, encouraging physical activity, improved fitness and positive social interaction. The club brings together people from different backgrounds through a shared interest in sport and martial arts. Any income generated by the company is used to support the continued operation and development of the organisation and its facilities, helping Ardoyne MMA C.I.C. continue delivering activities for the benefit of the community.

Consultation with stakeholders

Ardoyne MMA C.I.C. regularly engages with its stakeholders, including members, parents and guardians of junior members, coaches, volunteers and members of the local community. Consultation takes place through regular conversations at the club, direct communication with members and parents, social media and messaging, and feedback provided to coaches and management. Feedback is considered when planning training sessions, timetables, junior programmes, facilities and the overall development of the club. Where appropriate, changes have been made in response to the needs and feedback of those using our services. This ongoing engagement helps ensure that the activities provided by Ardoyne MMA C.I.C. continue to meet the needs of the people and community the company was established to benefit.

Directors' remuneration

The directors received remuneration for work carried out on behalf of Ardoyne MMA C.I.C., including coaching, management and the day-to-day operation of the organisation. Payments were made in relation to the work undertaken for the company and its community activities.
